6. The 15 Minutes a Day Theory
“How to clean your house in 15 minutes a day”. You’ll hear this catch phrase on the news, on talk shows, on the covers of books.
And you start to think “Is it really possible?” “Is there a big secret I’m missing here? They can do it in 15 minutes a day !”
Unfortunately I have to report that its nothing more than advertising hype … a quick line to grab your attention. There is no way a home can be kept totally clean in 15 minutes a day, I mean, it takes longer than that just to wash up after dinner! But all is not lost . . . read on:
The REAL Secret:
The real secret to making housework quicker is ROUTINES. You see, by breaking down housework and cleaning jobs into small increments, things get done with a lot less time. This is because lots of small cleans are a lot easier than one huge big clean. You’ll find my easy routines at Tab 3 at the very top this website.
Take for example the kitchen. Imagine you spill milk during breakfast in the morning, during your cornflakes. You leave the spill until “later”, and hastily leave your dirty bowl on the sink. You do this several times during the day.
At the end of the day you now have a big mess which will take a long time to clean up, and to make things harder, the milk has dried on the bench, and the cornflakes have dried like concrete on your cereal bowl.
Now imagine if you’d picked up the sponge and wiped the spill (2 second job), and put your dirty breakfast bowl in half a sink filled with soapy water (the dirt just slides off).
Now imagine you develop these habits for every room of your house. No big messy cleans for you!! This is what Stramenda.com is all about. Please read the pages of this site and absorb them, you will be a changed person!
Now if a friend calls you that they are visiting in 15 minutes, you can just have a quick look around your house for any stray items, because basically, you’re always ready!
